Any Horror Genre Experts out there?

I need a horror recommendation for a 12 year old that thinks he wants to read Stephen King (so not happening!)

  1. Has he read Holes by Louis Sachar? (not sure I have that spelled right). A couple other good ones are Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies, they aren't as frightening at King but they are pretty intense, no rated R stuff, and very thought - provoking. Plus when you do allow him to read King, go with Misery. It doesn't have the sex and swearing that a lot of his others have. But it is very scary!

Those sound good! I know HOles and they loved the movie and what a great idea. I'll just get him the Misery one and see what comes of it. Most likely he'll probably read a few pages then decide it's too thick (call his bluff a little!)
